Danilyn Rutherford is associate professor of anthropology at the University of Chicago and author of Raiding the Land of the Foreigners: The Limits of the Nation on an Indonesian Frontier (2003). She is currently completing a book on nationalism, colonialism, and the idea of an audience in West Papua.
