David Shulman is professor of Indian studies and comparative religion at the Hebrew University, Jerusalem, Israel. He specializes in the cultural history of medieval South India, particularly the Tamil and Telugu regions. He is the author most recently of Dark Hope: Working for Peace in Israel and Palestine (2007).
