Public Books Web-Design Charrette Newsletter
Dear friends,
The PUBLIC BOOKS Web-Design Charrette online discussion is now open!
We encourage everyone to follow the links below to view the three preliminary designs from:
Then please weigh in with your thoughts on the PUBLIC BOOKS Preview Discussion Page. The discussion will continue through December 19, following which the editorial office will invite one of the teams to flesh out their design and develop for February the full-release version of the site—hope to see you there!
And now a pair of related reminders:
For those in New York City on Tuesday, December 6, you are invited to participate in a live presentation and discussion moderated by Nicholas Mirzoeff and featuring Public Culture editors Eric Klinenberg, Sharon Marcus, and Caitlin Zaloom, journal staff, participating designers, and guest critics Max Fenton, Erin Kissane, Mark Shepard, and Sherri Wasserman. The event starts at 7 p.m. See here for more details.
The full text of two major review essays—inaugural contributions by Jonathan Levy on the new histories of capitalism and by Sharon Marcus on Jeffrey Eugenides’s novel The Marriage Plot—are available NOW on the current journal website.
All the best from everyone at Public Culture!
