Annette Hamilton is a Professor of Film Studies and Media Anthropology at the University of New South Wales in Sydney. She has published widely on indigenous issues in Australia and Southeast Asia, and since the mid 1980s has researched and written on media and culture with a special interest in Thailand. Recently she has been working on history and contemporary film in Vietnam and Laos.
