Cindi Katz

Graduate Center at CUNY

Cindi Katz, a geographer, teaches at the Graduate Center of the City University of New York. Her book Growing Up Global: Economic Restructuring and Children’s Everyday Lives (2004) received the 2004 Association of American Geographers Meridian Award for best scholarly publication. Her current interests include contemporary U.S. childhood as spectacle, the intertwined spatialities of homeland and home-based security, and activism, social reproduction, and the enduring effects of Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans.
