Julia Hell is an associate professor of German studies at the University of Michigan. She is the author of Post-Fascist Fantasies: Psychoanalysis, History, and the Literature of East Germany (1997) and has published widely on issues of German culture and politics. She is currently completing a book on post-Holocaust authorship in political theory, literature, and the arts.
