Marita Sturken

Marita Sturken teaches at the Annenberg School for Communication at the University of Southern California. Her books include Tangled Memories: The Vietnam War, the AIDS Epidemic, and the Politics of Remembering (1997) and Practices of Looking: An Introduction to Visual Culture (with Lisa Cartwright, 2001). She currently is editor of the American Quarterly and is at work on a book manuscript entitled “Tourists of History: Memory, Mourning, and Kitsch in American Culture.”
