Michael Silverstein

Michael Silverstein is the Charles F. Grey Distinguished Service Professor in the Departments of Anthropology, Linguistics, and Psychology and the Committee on Interdisciplinary Studies in the Humanities at the University of Chicago, where his research and teaching center on how cultural communication shapes language and vice versa. He recently published Talking Politics: The Substance of Style from Abe to W (2003).
