Shannon Mattern is assistant professor and Director of Graduate Studies in the Department of Media Studies and Film at The New School. Her research focuses on relationships between media, architecture, and urban planning. Recent publications include The New Downtown Library: Designing With Communities (2007) and “Resonant Texts: Sounds of the Contemporary American Public Library” (2007).
