WIlliam P. MacNeil

William P. MacNeil MA (Tor), LLB (Dal), LLM (UCL), JSD (Col) is a professor of law at Griffith University in Brisbane, Qld., Australia where he teaches jurisprudence. Prior to coming to Australia in 1998, MacNeil taught at the University of Hong Kong (‘89-‘98) and worked at the London School of Economics (‘88-‘89). MacNeil is a founding associate editor of the journal, Law, Culture and the Humanities and the former president of the Law and Literature Association of Australia (‘05-‘09). His research explores the interconnections between law and culture and in 2007, he published Lex Populi: The Jurisprudence of Popular Culture (Stanford). At present, MacNeil is completing Novel Judgements: Legal Theory as Fiction, due out in mid-2010 from Routledge (London).
